Does Fat Make You Fat?

Everywhere we turn says that in order to lose weight, we need to eat less fat. Eating fat-free has been proven to make you lose weight, right? Wrong! Because all fats are not created equal, we may be starving our bodies of a much-needed nutrient.

Eating fat does not make you fat; it is actually the inability to burn fat that makes you fat.

Let me explain ..

You see, your brain only has two sources of energy: (1) fat and (2) sugar.

We are so inundated with eating sugar on a daily basis that our brains have forgotten how to burn fat for energy. Most of us today don’t burn fat because we have only become sugar burners.

When we eat that much sugar, our bodies are in a constant state of inflammation. It’s really a hormone problem, and that’s the reason we don’t burn fat, because our body is not hearing the hormone called leptin.

Every single fat cell in your body (and we have trillions, mind you) releases a hormone called leptin to your brain, and it says, “Hey, burn me for energy. I’m just sitting here.” Well, guess what? When our bodies are in a state of inflammation due to how much sugar we eat, our brains can no longer hear that hormone leptin. Your fat cells look at their neighbors and say, “Hey, the brain cannot hear what we’re trying to say, so we’re clearly not yelling loud enough. Let’s reproduce our cells so that we can yell louder.”

Do you know what that means? That means that you have just gained weight without adding a single calorie to your diet, because your body, your fat cells, are trying to tell your brain to burn them for energy, and it’s just not working. Is this making sense?

Another benefit to eating really good fats is that it produces cholesterol. Now, I know cholesterol has been demonized for the most part, but did you know that it is the first hormone of all your hormone chains? Do you know what that means? It means you need cholesterol to produce all of your other hormones. It’s that important.

Cholesterol is also an anti-inflammatory. So, you know earlier when we were talking about your body being in a state of inflammation when you eat so much sugar? Cholesterol is the key to actually help reduce that inflammation. Amazing, right?

Cholesterol is also a protector. It protects your brain from toxins found in your body. How awesome is that? You have what is called a blood-brain barrier, and it resides around the base of your neck. It protects your brain from the toxins in your body, and it is made out of cholesterol.

If our body is comprised out of certain nutrients, don’t you think it’s critical that we replenish our body with those same nutrients to function normally and ward off disease?

But not all fat is created equal, and this is where the problem typically lies with our Standard American Diet (SAD).

To use fat, you have to be able to utilize it by breaking it down or burning it. There are some severe dangers in fat consumption, but they’re not what you’ve been made to think. Let’s look at the ability to use good fat—or a God fat—versus a manmade fat. We’ve been told that the healthier option is manmade fats.

Now, to show you how our bodies break down fat, we created a video and used the mac-daddy of tools to show us about synthetic fats versus good fats.
